History & Background
Since 2009, Wren have hatched over 50 showrooms across the UK, making us the fastest manufacturer and retailer of fitted kitchens. In that time, we've homegrown a lot of our talent; all of whom have helped lift us to where we are now. And the rest, they say, is history! Have a scroll through our timeline below to see a snippet of our early years...

2009 - The Beginning
We opened our factory store in Howden as a test store in April, to see how the concept of
British fully-assembled kitchens would be received. We had customers from Cumbria to
Cornwall which prompted us to take a big step into retail.
In November, our rapid store opening programme began, by Boxing Day, our total store
count was 4.

2010 - First Steps
Our small team opened 9 showrooms in 2010, bringing our total to 13 by the end of the year. From Poole to Aberdeen, we already had stores along the length of the country. Although still in infancy, we were beginning to ruffle a few feathers, damaging the sales of our competition in those areas.

2011 - Big Plans
With ambitious plans on the horizon, we purchased our 500,000 sq ft factory in Scunthorpe as the main centre for kitchen manufacturing. This important acquisition gave us capacity to support up to 150 stores. 14 stores were opened in 2011, bringing our total to 26.

2012 - Making Tracks
Purchasing our entire delivery fleet of over 40 lorries - we now own the entire supply chain of purchasing a kitchen. Retail expansion continued, with a showroom count at 32 by the end of 2012.

2013 - Flying to The Nest
A landmark year for us, which included acquisition of The Nest in Barton-upon-Humber. A
former manufacturing plant for Huggies Nappies, this fantastic facility provided a new
head office for our growing team and world class training facilities. It gave us ample
room for furniture warehousing and the opportunity to manufacture in the future.
Our showroom portfolio was now 46 by the end of 2013, all of which included our brand
new range of furniture.
We opened a state of the art training academy which would go on to welcome and train
hundreds of new designers, managers, surveyors and more.

2014 - Making a Splash
Partnership began with distinguished celebrity interior designer, Linda Barker. Together
we launched the Linda Barker Collection, a luxury new kitchen range available in 40
unique colours and three finishes.
We had 52 stores in operation and growing by the end of 2014!

2015 - Growing Up
Some key appointments have been made already this year, giving us the infrastructure for
future scalable growth.
As well as continuing our new showroom opening programme, we are relocating many of our
showrooms to larger sites and introducing more fitted kitchens into all of our existing
showrooms.

2016 - To Infinity...
We made a large £50M invest into our bespoke manufacturing which lead to the launch of Infinity, a brand new collection offering over 10 million combinations of kitchens. Our Kitchen Planner saw major advancements following a 2.7 million investment in technology whilst we added 9 brand new showrooms.

2017 - A Virtually indescribable year...
This year marked the launch of a new Virtual Reality experience, allowing customers to walk around their dream kitchen. A brand new website made it easier for customers to explore our kitchens including a new configurator to create your dream kitchen at home. We added over 70 new units to an already vast kitchen range. We opened another 9 state of the art showrooms which included our new VR technology.

2018 - Your kitchen, Our heart and soul
In 2018 we introduced our 'No hassle, No haggle guarantee' which meant the customer got the best price every time. Appliance price-match promise gave customers the confidence they were paying best price for their appliances as well as their dream kitchen. A brand new major TV campaign was launched, 'Your kitchen, our heart and soul'. Wren were recognised as the number 2 best place to work in the UK in addition to being voted best kitchen retailer by Your Home Awards. All this hard work has lead to over a billion pounds worth of kitchens being delivered over the last three years. A further 9 showrooms were added taking us to over 70 showrooms nationwide.

2019 - The journey continues...
This year alone we have added Spectrum, a new colour collection bringing choices of colours to over 2000 and looking to further expand our showroom portfolio. We have no intention of slowing down and have some very exciting plans for the year...
The benefits of working at Wren are too many to mention
